Introducing Social Care Support

Social Care Support provides dynamic, innovative and responsive business to business support to local authorities, the NHS, voluntary, and private sectors. As independent social work consultants, each with 38 years’ statutory experience, we focus on helping transform the way organisations and teams approach and deliver services: finding sustainable solutions to help meet the complex and growing demands within the care sector. Central to this is focusing on practice and performance to achieve person-centred outcomes for the individuals they work with.

We are passionate about raising professional and practice standards and ‘Creating a difference, that makes a difference.’

We achieve this by providing a range of bespoke support services. We support with service and system design and redesign to improve performance and raise practice standards. We promote preventative, integrated, strength-based approaches, rather than the deficit models that social care is largely based on. We achieve this by providing targeted support and training to care professionals and their managers, through workshops, training (face to face or online) coaching, mentoring and professional supervision, where we share our skills, knowledge and experience to help encourage and inspire professional development.

We work in partnership to redefine the way a ‘learning culture is developed within a team and organisation, so it is proactive rather than reactive and becomes embedded into day-to-day practice.

We undertake project work, service and case file auditing, single and multi-agency reviews, including Independent Management Reviews (IMRs) and Safeguarding Adult Reviews (SARS). We collate information and details of events, analyse and reflect on actions and outcomes; decision making; professional curiosity in practice; identify areas of good practice as well as missed opportunities and consider the effectiveness of collaborative and multi-agency working. We identify goals and actions to achieve successful change and more positive outcomes in the future.

All our work is under pinned and promotes strength–based approaches. We focus on individuals’ strengths, goals, person-centred outcomes, self-sufficiency and resilience. We actively encourage and support the involvement of individuals with lived experience, in sharing their experiences as recipients of services to help raise awareness of issues and barriers and contribute to development of services; the changing of professional attitudes and approaches to raise practice standards and achieve person-centred outcomes.

We offer a skilled, experienced, flexible and responsive approach and will work in partnership with you to understand your organisation, the context in which you work and provide a service, your issues, challenges and priorities and the barriers to achieving the outcomes you want.

We provide a bespoke service that is designed to meet your needs that is clearly set out in our proposal of work. In delivering our service we work alongside you, supporting you to find sustainable, realistic solutions to the challenges you face in achieving your outcomes - that are underpinned by our strength-based approaches and by Learning in Practice (LIP).

We provide regular check-ins and reviews of progress and can adjust our approach as needed.

We also evaluate and can supply a report on our intervention and the outcomes achieved. We also offer on-going support for agreed periods including mentoring, coaching and professional supervision to ensure that learning is embedded in practice and is outcome focused.
